Thanks for the inspiration commish!

The Prague Penguins, inspired by likely the best start in the team’s history had a rare two games days off to practice but upon their return discovered their improved play hasn’t garnered them much respect…yet.

Coach Brian Kilrea summed it up for his team after his team’s 7-0 whipping of Calcutta  in front of frenzied fans in downtown Prague last night.

“Well, we would sure like to thank the TWHL commissioner for the inspiration  for this one. Unfortunately, the guys were so pumped by the comments made in the pre-game notes that they overlooked Singapore, but I can’t lie, this one feels pretty damn good. I feel bad for the Calcutta team…they didn’t have a chance and it wasn’t their fault…those pre-game notes have been on our dressing room wall for the past 24 hours including the unfairness comment made about out team in second place.”

Always a leader on and off the ice, veteran team captain put the team on his back like he hasn’t since TWHL 7, scoring three times and  moved into top spot in team scoring with 30 points in 31 games. The guy who, like everyone else on the team was a double digit minus last season is now a plus 8 and climbing.

“It felt pretty good to fill the net again, like the old days, said Esposito, adding he was inspired by the lifetime contract signed by coach Brian Kilrea. “Me and Killer have been together now for four seasons and I am looking forward to continuing with him..well, forever,” said Esposito.

The Penguins, still at one game over .500 are looking forward to their next tough challenge, making the trip down under to play Melbourne in their next games day, hoping their inspired play will rub off and carry them to a new team goal…to get management involved in the AST as one of the division’s top two teams.
