RW: "Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to another edition of the Phantoms broadcast.  This was a strange week so far in Phantoms land, as GM Anthony Wyng and myself had somewhat of a personal interview when he showed up on the scene last week.   The TWHL Season has gotten underway and what a crazy first two days on the schedule it was.

Our boys from Cairo had back to back battles in the first two nights and came out very flat in game one falling 4-2 to Toronto.  It seemed as if Marty (Brodeur) was still shaking off some of the off-season jitters.  The whole team came out seeming as if it was still pre-season and were beat all over the ice.  Every puck in every corner and every situation was won over by Toronto, thus the final score.

In the 2nd game, rumors had been spreading that GM Anthony Wyng was taking part in assisting the coaching staff with situations from the press-box.  Maybe Cairo should look into this more often.  Cairo came out with a 2-1 victory in a much better played game.  They produced turnovers galore, and were just quicker in their skates.  Marty (Brodeur) looked sharp as can be, and suddenly there are rumors of an early season MVP candidate.  Funny how things start to be spoken of after just two games into the season.

Regardless, at this point Cairo is a .500 team with a record of 1-1.  At practice this morning, GM Anthony Wyng stated that there were still going to be line-up changes as he plans to help out duties with the coaching staff as well as help out co-GM Larry Conlan in the upper offices.

We look forward to a great season here with Cairo and hope that the success from last game continues on throughout the season.  A lot of off season things were done to help the situation of the team and we only hope, at this point, that they pan out.  Until next game, I'm Rose McGowan for the Cairo Phantoms."
